App Store screenshot sizes, in pixels.
Updated
Apple now names screenshot sizes by device class, not by inches. This page lists every iPhone, iPhone Duo and iPad size, the iPhone row Apple marks as required, and the iOS 27 header sizes.
What Apple requires
Apple's spec page has a list of required device sizes. For iPhone the list says "At least one screenshot for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)." That row is the iPhone 18 Pro, 17 Pro, 17, 16 Pro, 16, 15 Pro, 15 and 14 Pro, at 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556.
For iPad the list asks for at least one screenshot for the iPad 13-inch display, at 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732. This applies only if the app supports iPadOS.
appstills makes iPhone and iPhone Duo sets. An iPhone set is 1320 × 2868, the largest size in the Dynamic Island (large display) row. An iPhone Duo set is 2007 × 2853 for the inner display or 1398 × 2034 for the outer one. It can also make the product page header, 3840 × 1646. It does not make iPad sets or the search results asset.
Does one 1320 × 2868 set cover every iPhone?
The same Apple page says that if the app looks the same on every device, "you only need to provide screenshots for the highest required resolution." App Store Connect then scales them down for smaller devices.
Each row also names the row it scales from when it has no screenshots. The medium display row scales from Face ID (large display). That row scales from Dynamic Island (large display), the 1320 × 2868 row.
The page does not say if a scaled set meets the medium display requirement. If App Store Connect asks for screenshots in that row, resize the set to 1206 × 2622 and upload it there. That size has the same shape as 1320 × 2868 to within 0.1%.
Every iPhone size
The rows use Apple's names and model lists. Portrait first, then landscape. Where a row lists more than one size, Apple accepts any of them. Checked against Apple's screenshot specifications on 17 October 2026.

iPhone Duo
iPhone Duo has two displays and a size for each. The outer display is 1398 × 2034 portrait or 2034 × 1398 landscape. The inner display is 2007 × 2853 portrait or 2853 × 2007 landscape.
Apple says that starting in April 2027, "screenshots will be required for any app using the iOS 27.1 SDK or later." If you submit iPhone Duo screenshots, the product page shows a badge that says the app is optimized for iPhone Duo.
A resized 1320 × 2868 set does not fit either Duo size. Both displays have a wider shape than an iPhone. appstills makes Duo sets in portrait at both sizes, from a recording or screenshots of that display. How to make iPhone Duo screenshots.
Every iPad size
Only the 13-inch row is required, and only for an app that runs on iPad. appstills does not make iPad sets.

File rules
- .jpeg, .jpg or .png.
- At least one screenshot, and up to 10 per device size.
- No alpha channel and no transparency.
- No rounded corners on the file itself. The store draws its own frame.
Creative assets on iOS 27
Creative assets are images or videos for the product page header and the search results. Apple says they appear in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 and later. They are optional and separate from screenshots, and they can show the brand, not only the app in use. If an app has no search results asset, the App Store shows its in-app events, app previews and screenshots there. See how screenshots show in search.
appstills makes the 21:9 product page header, 3840 × 1646, from the first screen of your set and its headline, in the style of the set. It is one credit more, or one credit on its own with Header only. The header in every style. It does not make the search results asset or video. Apple has header and search results templates on its asset best practices page.
Apple's own renders of an iPhone product page show the header at its full height but only the middle two thirds of its width. The back and share buttons sit over its upper corners and the Dynamic Island over its top centre. Keep the headline and the app's own title away from those places, and check the crops in App Store Connect's preview.
Image sizes from Apple's creative assets specifications, checked on 17 October 2026. No alpha channel and no transparency.
| Placement | Aspect ratio | Size | Files |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product page header | 21:9 | 3840 × 1646 | .jpeg, .jpg or .png |
| Product page header | 16:9 | 5244 × 2950 | .png |
| Search results | 3:2 | 1920 × 1280 min 3840 × 2560 max | .jpeg, .jpg or .png |
| Search results | 16:9 | 5244 × 2950 | .png |
Creative asset video
Video uses the 21:9 header size and the 3:2 search results sizes. Apple lists no 16:9 video.
- 30 or 60 frames per second.
- 5 to 30 seconds.
- .mov, .m4v or .mp4.
- Muted by default and played in a loop. People can unmute on the product page but not in search results.
Why the pixel count is not the hard part
Any tool can resize an image. The work in a listing is choosing which screens to show, writing a headline that says what the screen does, and laying the two out so they read at thumbnail size on a phone. That is what appstills does from a screen recording or a few screenshots, in any of six styles, at 1320 × 2868 or at the iPhone Duo sizes.
